Use 9-1-1 only in emergencies

You should call 9-1-1 only to report:

Crimes:  If you see a crime or are a victim of a crime call 9-1-1

Fires: Any fire is an emergency!

Possible Dangers to Life:  Call 9-1-1 for serious injuries or illnesses, poisoning or gas leaks.

Calling 9-1-1 with an automatic alarm dialer is illegal in Illinois

Don't call 9-1-1 for non-emergencies, such as:

lost pets, noisy neighbors, or other minor complaints.
