EMERGENCY ALERTING IN THE TRI-CITIES

Code RED Emergency Telephone Notification System

Kane County has instituted the Code RED Emergency Telephone Notification System which is an ultra high-speed telephone communications service for emergency notification which allows local officials to telephone targeted areas of a municipality or the entire County in case an emergency situation requires immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child or evacuation notices) occurs.

The system is capable of dialing 60,000 phone numbers per hour.  It then delivers a recorded message, making three attempts to connect to any number.

This system allows anyone within Kane County to update their residential or business information, including cellular telephone numbers, to be included in important call notifications.

If you have an unlisted telephone number or want to receive notification via your cellular or VOIP telephone you can enter that number into the database.
