Tri Com Central Dispatch is an intergovernmental agency created in 1976 for the purpose of providing combined public safety communications for the cities of St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia, Illinois and their fire protection districts plus in 2001 the Elburn, Illinois Fire protection district.  The center directly receives 9-1-1 and other emergency phone calls placed from location within the tri-city area and directly dispatches police, fire and EMS personnel and vehicles via radio.  Employees work 3 shifts through out at 24 hours period. Employees also work weekends and holidays.  At this time, shifts are chosen by a seniority bidding process on a yearly basis.
